Is The DirecTV Triple Play For Real?

There are exceptions to every rule. In a lot of material comparing satellite TV and cable TV, Cable’s most attractive deals are from the triple play, something that Cable does very well to stand out from the crowd. By combining TV, Internet and phone you get 20, maybe 30 extra dollars off the total bill and in some cases even more!

DirecTV has made a lot of progress in the direction of the triple play making enormous partnership deals with phone and internet providers. How likely are you to access a DIRECTV Triple Play? If you’re in the territory of any of these providers then there is a good chance, but not a guarantee that you’re eligible for something closely resembling a Cable TV like triple play deal.

However what we all want to know is...is there a catch? One thing I learned in the field of satellite and cable after years explaining to customers how they can avoid ugly fine print issues, is if an offer sounds too good to be true, then ask the competition of who ever made the offer!
Don’t get me wrong this DirecTV bundle offer is good for UP TO $180 WORTH OF SAVINGS, but only in select areas and under certain terms and conditions. If you happen to live in the right area, you must follow these criteria or conditions:

You must carry a service of at least $39.99/month and add qualifying service(s) from a preferred provider.
Add internet service through a DirecTV provider
Be billed separately for internet service
Possibly purchase equipment such as an internet modem for service.
Other start up costs may apply depending on your Cable and Internet Provider.
Offer does not work with DIRECTV High-Speed Internet service powered by WildBlue.

If you are lucky enough to fit the bill so to speak then you will have up to $180 worth of credits taken off your DirecTV bill for bundling your services.

At the time of this writing, you will still have to pay separate bills, which is one fundamental disadvantage of a DirecTV bundle pack offer to a cable one. Plus, it’s not as large of a discount as some Cable connections. However, like I’ve told hundreds if not thousands of happy customers by now: “Your better off keeping Cable for your internet and phone usage and going satellite TV for the TV side of things” It just makes too much since to ignore when Satellite TV has so much to offer all things considered basically.

A brief history of DirecTV…

When Directv first launched in 1993-94, they were criticized for having their “heads in the clouds” so to speak with no chance against Cable TV in the “cable boom”.
