Direct TV satellite television packages actually start at $29.99 with the DirecTV Family Pack, then the Choice, Choice Xtra and the Premier package with the best Direct TV deal, the NFL Sunday Ticket.  With many extra Sports pack and premium(HBO, SHO) channel package arrangements.

DirecTV has exclusive rights to the NFL Sunday Ticket which provides every game in HD... which goes way beyond Monday night football. First time subscribers also enjoy getting the Premier Pack (Direct TV’s everything pack) consisting of over 265 channels for 5 months FREE when they sign up. The NFL Sunday Ticket is $60, the premier package would be $100 a month all on its own.

DirecTV promotions are very good about winning over your business with season pass offers such as the NFL Sunday Ticket, MLB and NCAA March Madness. I’d say for most Americans this DirecTV offer is THE BEST DEAL FOR TV SERVICE ANYWHERE - that is, during this promotion…even if you hate football! It’s worth a second or third look, over 265 channels for $60 per month.

Dish Network promotions might be cheaper throughout the rest of the year but those packages are also VERY LIGHT in channels when compared to the Sunday Ticket. So the point is that football season, is also Directv season.

The next most popular package next to the Sunday Ticket with Direct TV is the Choice Extra Package. Choice Xtra features about 200 channels for 39.99 a month. If you were to count from your actual program guide that would be 132 regular channels and 56 music channels. Basically it carries ALL of the most popular mainstream channels.

What's the hold up for locals in my area?

If you are one of the remaining areas without locals it could be for a number of reasons. Usually it means Directv is still in negotiations with your local channel network advertisers who receive payment for making them available. Eventually it works out though. If you are in one of those few areas you can still get NBC, ABC, NBC, PBS, CBS, WPN, Fox by calling up DirecTV and having them submit a waiver for what they call a distant feed. Which means you can get them out of another city like NYC, NY or LA, CA. Or you may receive a discount for it. Only a few of the most sparsely populated areas are left without locals.
